Pushing snow or other materials onto or across highways and roadways from private driveways can cause accident and death.  As discussed at the 2025 Annual Meeting, the Town of Marathon will bill actual expenses to persons plowing snow across the road if any expense occurs because of it.  Obstructions of vision clearance triangles at intersections is prohibit by WSS 86.92 and by section 2.15 of the County Zoning Ordinance.   Avoid penalty and liability and cooperate towards safer highways and roadways. The life you save may be your own.

Tax Returns:
A large portion of the State Shared Revenue we receive is based on the population of the TOWN OF MARATHON. The State receives this count from the information you supply them on you State Income Tax Return. Therefore PLEASE be sure you list the TOWNSHIP OF MARATHON as your place of residence on your Income Tax Return. This also holds true for your vehicle registration. If you have rental property, ask your tenants to do the same. If we receive our fair share of these State revenues, we will hopefully continue to keep our Tax Levy for the Town at a minimum.

Cemetery Sites:
The Town of Marathon will be selling cemetery sites to any Town of Marathon Residents. The cemetery is located next to St. Mary's and St. Matthew's formerly know as Potters Field. Please call Keith Langenhan at 715-218-1929.
